And The Scores Are In!

We are thrilled to announce that Rhythm of the Rockies achieved 1st place standing in Division A in western Canada this past May! With a score of 588, we also placed 3rd overall against all competing choruses. What a fantastic feeling!

The theme of this year's competition was "Sparkling thru in '22"! And this was no ordinary competition. For the first time in Sweet Adelines history, we had to submit a video instead of attending large convention together with other choruses. Our video was created in our studio. With a couple of our quartets. And our fabulous videographer - Ryan Vickers. We had other "firsts" too. This was the first contest performance since 2019 when we competed at Internationals in the Smoothie King Centre in New Orleans. It was also our first time to perform for others since the beginning of the pandemic back in 2020. It was also our first contest under the direction of our amazing new music director Jo Killips! And, while we've become accustomed to singing with 60 or more women on stage, our post-pandemic performance included 26 members! We are grateful for the ones who were able to join us on the risers and we were grateful for the members that cheered us on in their hearts and over Zoom. We felt their spirit and positive energy!

Rhythm of the Rockies would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Ryan for doing such a great job! Ryan is the son of one of our members and has been graciously and consistently helping us with all our technology needs for contest and at our regular rehearsals. We couldn't have done everything we wanted to without him. Thank you for your support and time Ryan! We are lucky to have you!
