Back For The Future!

What a performance and what a party! Rhythm of the Rockies joined amazing choirs and quartets from all over western Canada this spring in the Region 26 SAI Contest - Back for the Future! And we were thrilled to be back on stage and connecting with singers, leaders, educators and friends and family. The last time we got together with our region for competition was back in 2018!

By bus, by plane, or by car, we made our way to Saskatoon on the weekend of April 27 - 29 so that we could be ready to perform in the beautiful TCU theatre. We made sure to plan our time so that we could join the audience to watch the exciting quartet competition and cheer on two of our own quartets: Third Time Lucky and Glisten. Our skin is still tingling from the beautiful harmonies!

After many, many months of rehearsal and attending coaching sessions with local and international educators, we sang our hearts out! We are so pleased to announce that we received 3rd place in the medium-size chorus division, and 4th overall! And we did this under the support and direction of our Musical Director, Jo Killips. This was Jo's very first experience directing us in a live format competition and we were simply giddy to be on the stage with her! Her first time directing us for competition was for the video contest in 2022. Our members shared how much they enjoyed the time on stage and it showed!

So, now that we have this contest in our rearview mirror, we are ready to embrace the opportunities to publicly perform again in Calgary and surrounding areas. We look forward to seeing you soon!
